This data set is extremely useful because of the inclusion of the entire world and how it relates to gluten and wheat products. The data set was published in 2015 so it provides accurate statistical information that is still relevant in today’s society. The data was published in the International Trade Statistics Yearbook which is a reliable source of information regarding statistics. The table represents the overall growth of imports of wheat products and 529 starches throughout the world and compares the percentages to a multitude of countries. For example, there is a comparison of average growth that shows the United States and the world have both increased by 7.9% between 2010 and 2014.

The data set chosen from the USDA website for wheat related topics was the one focusing on the cost that revolves around the production and sale of wheat products. The data set began recording prices and differences in costs in 2012 and has numbers that are as recent as 2016. Although the data set records data through 2017 as a projection it uses valid information and trends found throughout recent yeas. The data set compares the costs of wheat to produce flour and the wholesale price of bakery flour and byproducts. The overall outcome shows that the wholesale price for bakery flour is higher than the cost of wheat used to produce flour.

This data set is a representation of the decrease in production of wheat, exports, and ending stocks within the United States and the world as a whole. The comparison illustrates that there is significant growth in production, exports, and stocks for the world as there is an overall slight decrease for the United States. The information showing a decrease for the United States hweat production would be beneficial as a reference point to show the rise in popularity of gluten-free diets. The data set was published by the USDA in the wheat yearbook section as a valid resource for statistics proving to be extremely reliable. The data gives information from 1996 to 2016 which is a wide set of data that makes trends easily recognizable and transparent to the viewer.
